At the Beach

Take your pick of the three beaches near Simi Valley.  All of them have a calming, ocean setting in which to relax, but each offers their own features no matter what kind of beach day you’re looking to have.  Catch a wave at the legendary surf spots of Ventura Beach or head to Malibu where the rocks and cliffs make for a perfect homemade postcard to send home to your loved ones.  Santa Monica, meanwhile, offers both the Pier and the Promenade for a variety of dining options and entertainment after you’ve spent the day relaxing in the sand.

In the Mountains

Simi Valley has an average temperature of 72 degrees, but in slightly more than an hour you can be surrounded by snow!  Head to the hills, or the mountains as it were, and check out nearby locations like Mountain High, which sports East, West, and North resorts offering trails for all skill levels.  Additionally, the West resort is lit until 10:00 PM, so visitors can take advantage of skiing at night!  Mountain High also features Southern California’s highest disc golf course, the “Sky High” course, rated by DGCourseReview.com as one of the country’s top 25 courses for disc golf and among the top three most scenic.

On the Trails

Renowned for its multitude of paths to hike, the Rancho Simi Recreation & Park District in Simi Valley boasts various trails to explore. Unplug and discover views for miles plus local plant and wildlife in wondrous Southern California.  Plan a hike, horseback ride, or mountain bike tour through Simi Valley!

On the Water

There are plenty of options nearby if you want to be close to the water while staying in Simi Valley.  Channel Islands Harbor allows visitors to kayak, dive, or sail, while Ventura Harbor Village offers whale watching and sportfishing.  Simi Valley is also in close proximity to Six Flags Hurricane Harbor if you prefer a waterpark for your aquatic adventure.  Universal Studios is also near Simi Valley for a theme park experience that won’t require a bathing suit.
