The Simi Valley Chamber of Commerce, California Lutheran University’s Center for Entrepreneurship’s Hub101, and the City of Simi Valley and its Youth Employment Service are inviting members of the startup community to attend the next Inspire Entrepreneurship event on February 11, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. at the Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center. The Inspire Entrepreneurship series is designed to engage entrepreneurs through hosting special events and workshops for the startup community in Simi Valley.
This event will feature a presentation on resilience and perseverance in entrepreneurship from Michelle Wilner, Co-Founder and CEO of VIRTIS and the 2019 Entrepreneur of the Year by Women in IT. Immediately following her presentation, Ms. Wilner will join Brian Gabler, City of Simi Valley Interim City Manager, and Ray Caldwell Hub101 mentor and business consultant, to field live questions from entrepreneurs in attendance.
“If you have started a business, or are thinking of starting a business, this is an excellent opportunity to learn from Michelle Wilner’s experience starting an international cybersecurity firm right here in Ventura County,” said Rob West, the event committee chair and local business owner. West continued, “And the panel discussion will give entrepreneurs the chance to have their individual questions answered by those with firsthand knowledge on starting a business in Simi Valley.”
There will also be an opportunity for entrepreneurs to make 30-second pitches and collect brief feedback on their ideas from the panel. A networking reception with light refreshments will conclude the event. Attendance is free with advance registration at this link: https://startupsimi.com.
