The beaches in Santa Monica are lively with locals and close to the bustle of the Santa Monica Pier and 3rd Street Promenade.

Lakes & Harbors

It’s easy to enjoy the water near Simi Valley. Head to Ventura Harbor Village or Channel Islands Harbor, both near Oxnard, for the beautiful marinas, shops, and dining. Spend a day out on the lake just north of Simi Valley at Castaic Lake, Pyramid Lake, or Lake Casitas.

Natures & Zoo

Get in touch with your wild side at an area zoo close to Simi Valley. In nearby Moorpark, your family will enjoy the animals at America’s Teaching Zoo at Moorpark College and the agricultural tours at Underwood Family Farms & Petting Zoo. Within about an hour of Simi Valley, you may also visit the Santa Barbara Zoo or the Los Angeles Zoo & Botanical Gardens.

The J. Paul Getty Museum and the Getty Villa

These two venues host outstanding collections of art and antiquities. The J. Paul Getty Museum in Los Angeles is set on a cliff overlooking the city and the sea; and houses paintings, drawings, sculptures, and photography within stunning buildings. The Getty Villa in nearby Malibu is dedicated to the study of ancient cultures and artifacts. Both venues feature notable architecture, grounds, and collections.

Hollywood Boulevard

See the stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, stop by the Chinese Theater, and tour Madame Tussaud’s. Griffith’s Observatory and the Hollywood Sign are also close by if you’re spending the day in Hollywood.

Santa Monica
