From an entire mall decked out for trick-or-treating, to hay rides and a Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) celebration, visit Simi Valley during the month of October for some harvest-season fun that’s perfect for the whole family!

1. Fall Harvest Festival at Underwood Family Farms

A Ventura County favorite, the Fall Harvest Festival at Underwood farms is a Simi Valley original! Every weekend in October, the farm transforms into a harvest wonderland with live music, animal shows, tractor-drawn wagon rides, a big pumpkin patch, and other activities. Kids will enjoy the kid's corral and pedal tractors, as well as a wooden climbing train. Plan to visit the farm anytime from 9am – 6pm.

2. Spooky Town at Simi Valley Town Center

Celebrate the season at Simi Valley Town Center as the whole mall is transformed into a Halloween paradise! “Spooky Town” will take place on Friday, October 26 from 5pm – 9pm. Treat the whole family to this free event that includes a costume contest, trick or treating, games, prizes, crafts, and live entertainment. The Rotary Club of Simi Sunrise will also host a haunted house at the Town Center from October 12-31.

3. Heritage Halloween

The Strathearn Historical Park and Museum is hosting its second annual Heritage Halloween and Movie in the Park on Saturday, October 20 from 5pm – 9:30pm. Families will enjoy fun old-fashioned games from 5-6pm and trick or treating at the historic structures around the park. A costume parade and a showing of Disney’s animated “Coco” close out this unique, free event.

4. 57th Annual Simi Valley Halloween Youth Carnival

Enjoy a howling good time at Rancho Simi Recreation and Park District’s 57th annual Halloween Carnival for kids ages 12 years and younger. Held on Halloween night, October 31st, carnival activities include inflatable bouncers and slides, hayrides, snow cones and popcorn, carnival games, a trick or treat village, face painting, shadow dancing, balloon animals, surprise entertainment and more! Food will be available for purchase. Tickets are $4 if purchased in advance, $5 at the door.

5. Dia de los Muertos Celebration

On October 28, celebrate the 4th annual Day of the Dead at Strathearn Historical Park. This event includes live performances, dancers, live music, food and craft vendors, and crafts for kids. The cost is $7 for adults and $5 for kids ages 5-12. Tickets can be purchased online or at the gate.
